Terms of Service | 82-0 — NBA All-Time Team Game

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") before using 82-0 (the "Game"), accessible from https://82and0.publicvm.com. By using the Game you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Game.

1. What 82-0 Is

82-0 is a free, independent, non-commercial fan-made trivia and statistics game. Players draft historical NBA players by team and decade and the Game simulates a hypothetical season based on publicly available, historical per-game statistics. It is entertainment and trivia software, not an official product, broadcast, or statistics service.

2. No Affiliation, Sponsorship, or Endorsement

82-0 is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or associated with the National Basketball Association ("NBA"), the National Basketball Players Association, any NBA team, or any current or former NBA player. "NBA" and all NBA team names, and any other trademarks referenced in the Game, are the property of their respective owners and are used here only to accurately identify and describe historical, publicly reported facts (which team a player appeared for, in which decade) — not to claim any endorsement or business relationship. No official team or league logos, uniforms, or broadcast footage are used anywhere in the Game; the Game's logo and visual design are original.

3. Use of Player Names and Statistics

The Game uses real player names and historical, publicly reported per-game statistics (points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks) to power its draft and simulation mechanics. Courts have repeatedly held that this kind of factual, publicly available sports data is not owned by any league or players' association, and that using player names and statistics in this way — for commentary, trivia, and statistics-based games — is lawful and protected, including under the First Amendment, because the public's interest in this freely available information outweighs any individual right of publicity claim in this context. 82-0 does not use any player's photograph, likeness, voice, or biographical narrative, and does not imply that any player endorses the Game.

4. Accuracy Disclaimer

Statistics and team/decade groupings are compiled from public sources for entertainment purposes and may contain errors, omissions, or simplifications (for example, era-adjustment factors applied by the simulation). Nothing in the Game should be relied on as an authoritative historical or statistical record. If you spot an error, please let us know and we'll look into it.

5. Daily Leaderboard & User Content

If you submit a score to the Daily Challenge leaderboard, you choose a display name that is shown publicly alongside your score. By submitting a name you agree that:

You won't use a name that is offensive, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, impersonates another person (including real NBA players, other users, or 82-0 staff), contains a link, or is otherwise unlawful. Automated and manual filters are in place, but no filter is perfect.
You won't use any real person's actual full name without their consent, or submit any other personal information as your display name.
We may remove, edit, or block any leaderboard entry or display name at our discretion, without notice, for any reason including a suspected violation of these Terms.
Leaderboard scores are self-reported by the Game's own client-side simulation and are not independently verified — treat the leaderboard as a friendly, casual feature, not a certified ranking.

6. Prohibited Conduct

In addition to the leaderboard rules above, you agree not to: interfere with or disrupt the Game or its infrastructure (including automated abuse of the leaderboard API); attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Game or its backend services; use the Game to violate any applicable law; or scrape, copy, or redistribute the Game's compiled player-statistics dataset for a competing product.

7. Intellectual Property

The Game's original code, design, logo, and the specific compilation and presentation of statistical data are owned by the Game's operator. Trademarks referenced for descriptive purposes (see Section 2) remain the property of their respective owners. Background music used in the Game is licensed royalty-free content; see the in-page credit comment near the audio player in the site source for track details.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Game is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't guarantee the Game will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, 82-0's operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Game. The Game is a free hobby project; your use of it is at your own risk.

10. Copyright / Trademark Complaints (DMCA)

If you are a rights holder (or an authorized representative) and believe content on 82-0 infringes your copyright or trademark, please contact us at samsattendance@gmail.com with: (1) identification of the material you believe is infringing and its location on the site, (2) your contact information, and (3) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized. We will review and respond promptly, and will remove or address any material found to be infringing.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Game after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms. Material changes will update the effective date above.
